Ring, or leave your details

The fastest way to get a job moving is a phone call to (07) 4064 9848. If it is easier, fill in the form on this page with the address and a short description and someone will call you back.

If a tree is already down, on a building, or tangled in wires, say so immediately — that changes the priority, and the storm and emergency page explains how those jobs are triaged. If a power line is involved, contact Ergon Energy first and keep everyone well clear.

What happens next

Someone comes out and looks at the tree. They will walk the access route, check what sits under the crown, look at the ground and the boundaries, and tell you honestly whether the tree needs to come out or whether pruning will fix the problem for less money. You get a written quote with the scope spelled out — green waste, stump depth, machinery — so it can be compared properly against anyone else's.

If the tree sits on a verge, on common property, or on a lot with a vegetation overlay, that gets raised at the quote rather than after the fact. The permits and council rules page covers what those checks involve.

Useful things to send with an enquiry

  • The street address, and which tree if there are several.
  • A photo from the street and one from the base looking up.
  • The width of the narrowest gate or gap into the work area.
  • Anything under or beside the tree: pool, shed, glasshouse, septic, retaining wall.
  • Whether there are wires anywhere near it.
  • Whether you want the mulch and timber kept.

That is usually enough to schedule a proper look and, in simple cases, to give you an indicative range before anyone drives out. The cost guide explains what those factors do to a price.

Coverage

Quotes are done across the areas listed on the service areas page — including Edge Hill, Redlynch, Smithfield, Trinity Beach, Palm Cove, Earlville, Edmonton and Gordonvale — for removals, stump grinding and palm work.

Cairns Tree Care is a referral service. Enquiries are passed to independent tree contractors working in Far North Queensland, and you should confirm licensing, insurance, qualifications and price directly with the contractor before any work begins.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What should I have ready when I call?

The address, roughly how many trees and what species if you know it, what is underneath or beside the tree, how wide the narrowest access point is, and whether any wires run near it. Photos help enormously — one from the street and one from the base looking up tells a contractor more than a paragraph of description.

Is the quote really free?

Yes, and it is done on site. Tree work cannot be priced accurately from a phone call because access and the drop zone matter more than the tree, so someone comes out, looks at it, and gives you a written number with the scope spelled out.

What areas do you cover?

Cairns city and suburbs, the northern beaches up to Palm Cove, the western suburbs through Redlynch and Brinsmead, and south through Woree, Edmonton and Gordonvale. Outside that it depends on the size of the job and the travel involved, so ask.
